Hey! My name is Craig. I just recently purchased the Gold edition of Logos 6. What are some primary things I need to know in order to experience the full benefit of Logos 6? What are some must haves?
Hi Craig,
I am fairly new here myself. Purchased logos 3 months ago. If I had it to do over again I would focus on learning what the software can do and how I can use it first before jumping in to buy additional resources. There are some videos called "QuickStart" available in the program. They only go so far though. Just this week there was a post in the forum about other training materials that are reasonably priced. I got the UDEMY course for a great price. The videos are wonderful and I have learned a great deal about the function of the software. It really is a fantastic product! I didn't have a clue about the learning curve required when I bought it though. There is now a logos 6 two volume user manual in production for $39.99 that will probably fill in the gaps for me when it comes out.
In regard to resources: there are constant sales and some really big sales periodically. Sign up for the emails that notify you of freebies. it is tempting to get things because they are a 'great deal, today only!' There really are some good deals but it's easy to get a whole bunch of stuff Of little use to you. Probably others will jump in with some solid recommendations. Best wishes and enjoy! It really is an amazing product once you begin to scratch the surface.

Also check out the free training videos available here and here and here. Most are done by volunteer users, so are of varying quality, but the ones by Mark Barnes are outstanding. And the ones by Logos/Faithlife are very good though generally quite short and not very in-depth. Note that videos pertaining to Logos 4 and Logos 5 are still relevant in Logos 6 because the User Interface is largely the same between those three versions. There have been new features added and a few changes to the menus, but mostly what worked in L4 and L5 still works in L6. Ask here if you find yourself confused about following the instructions in one of the older videos because things don't look quite the same for you in the current version.
Welcome to the forums Craig. Some good advice has already been given. In addition I will state perhaps what might be considered obvious but also I think is overlooked. To me one of the best ways to learn how to maximize Logos is to regularly participate in these forums. Consider participation as part of your training experience. Read, search and ask lots of questions.
