Suggestion: Simplify Biblical People/Places/Things in the Passage Guide

I don't use the Biblical People/Places/Things in the Passage Guide because mostly what they do is show me pictures of those entities. If I wanted pictures, I'd use the media section.

Instead, what would be much more useful is simply to see a list of what Biblical People/Places/Things are referred to in the passage. I could think click if I wanted media or references, etc.

Perhaps a setting could be added where I could choose between the current view and a minimal view.

I agree that a quick "minimal Passage Guide" button would be helpful. Actually, I have found myself trying to find a way to keep the Passage Guide from showing up every time I do a simple chapter/verse search from the home page. I have tried saving new layouts with the Passage Guide not open, but it seems to default back to including the Passage Guide with every quick search. As it often takes a LONG time for Logos to complete its search to fill out the Passage Guide, I find myself waiting sometimes several minutes before I can actually start reading and exploring as I am always waiting for the complete Passage Guide to complete loading. Does anyone know of a way to keep the Passage Guide from auto loading?

Try entering the passage into the command box at the top of the screen as opposed to into the box on the homepage

Please - this would be a major boon for comparatively little work. Throughout the Guides it should be kept in mind that some tasks require images; many tasks are primarily textual. The user should always be able to control between the two.

You can't as long as you use the Home Page to start your search. Alternatives are

use your own layout; or
use your own passage guide template

If you use your own layout you have to change the Startup option in Tools >> Program Settings.

If you use your own PG template (My Passage Guide) it can be very minimal so you can still use the Home Page to start your search

Also, if the Passage Guide is closed with all subsections closed, it takes no time to load as it remembers not to lookup the closed sections. That gives you quick access to the Guide should you find you want information from it without the processing overhead.
