Highlights by book?

Is there a way that I can view all my highlights (I only ever use the Yellow Highlighter pen) on a per book basis, similar to how Amazon displays all my Kindle highlights for a particular book, i.e. with the full text from the highlighted section and a page/location reference?

Currently when I log into Faithlife and pull up my "documents" I only have a rather unwieldy "Highlighter Pens" document with every single yellow highlight from every single book in my Logos library, but I would much prefer to get an overview of highlighted passages in a book (and then be able to export this to PDF or otherwise). Is there a way to achieve this in Logos? Am I missing something? (I'm using Logos 6).

You can change the default behavior so that notes go into the "most recent" note file, and then create note documents for each resource as you need to. (That is what I do).

Sadly Logos ties the highlights to notes for no good reason, than maybe simpler development on the programming end. It's not idea, but because of this, you have to create a note file for each book if you want to do this.

I don't know of any way to do this after the fact. If someone does, please respond.

There is no way to do it after the fact. The closest you can come is doing a Basic Search within that book alone for that highlighter style (a new search feature as of L6):

{Highlight Highlighting_Style_Name}

But that will only show the first couple of lines of each highlight.

Faithlife really needs to implement this feature, as people are always asking for it, people who have spent hours highlighting books and have all their highlights in one file.

I beg to differ. In basic data modeling one would notice a great deal of overlap in the data required for notes and highlights -- so much overlap as to imply that they are both subtypes of a common element. The question becomes one of whether or not the application makes this visible to the user or keeps it "under the hood". I, for one, appreciate its exposure. Some do not - you apparently being among them. I would like to see clipping more clearly integrated into the notes/highlights function. I was pleased to see the expansion to include labels and multiple attachment points. A bit more tweaking and we may have a fully integrated annotation system which would thrill me.
