Community Tags usage

I was wondering why one would want to add a community tag in the situation illustrated below? This is already part of an article on the Gospel of John. What does tagging achieve here? In the sentence "...introduction and conclusion to the gospel," "gospel" refers also to John, but was not tagged by the person who tagged "fourth gospel". Why tag the first and not the second?

    Unless the person(s) who did the tagging speak up or we have a forum-reading crystal ball, I fear we'll never know.
