Morphological Search Missing

It downloaded a bunch of resources today and I have lost the ability now to search a particular hebrew word or greek word (depending upon OT or NT) since that option does not show up on the lemma (right clicking on the English Word or in Hebrew in the Interlinear. Don't know if this is a glitch I have rebooted by closing the software and starting it again. I am using this current version

If you go into a Search tab you will see a warning that it is indexing.

First see if it is indexing and then see if normal Searches work. If the answer to both is NO we may have another example.

The search window is not working and that might be because of the indexing. It has been in indexing for over 24 hours and I cannot figure out how long I have to wait. It was upto 80% this morning and I had to reboot my computer and now indexing is at 15%. When I initially downloaded the product (I have had to do it on this laptop twice because Windows 8.1 crashed and I had to do a clean install and reinstall Logos all over), the indexing was done in less than 10 hours with over 9000 resources. This is what has gotten me perplexed. I will wait it out till this evening and see if that resolves and if it does, I will pass the word along.

Large libraries (which you have) take a long time to index. Things get much slower when you have a traditional hard drive (do you? or do you have an SSD?), especially when the drive doesn't have adequate free space (how much do you have)?

If windows crashed twice, is it possible the drive is failing?

Thereis plenty of space. Windows 8.1 crashed once. Hard drive is doing fine. I have over 500GB left on the hard drive. It is supposed to index only the new resources not everything since our had already indexed over 10000 resources before hand.

One of the features is that Logos will now initiate its own reindex to repair a corrupt index. This means that you may be doing a full reindex before you realize that you have a problem.

Dear MJ,

Thanks for that insight. I was not aware of that. It looks like it finished indexing and opened hte search window. I was able to search. But it still does not give me the Search parameters when I click on the interlinear text either on the English word or the Greek Word. That whole section is missing when I right click on any particular word. I rebooted the computer. Now Logos is again indexing. I hope I am not caught in this cyclical indexing thing.

It looks like it finished indexing and opened hte search window.

You should see a warning when it is indexing. Also, there will be a red triangle next to the Sync icon (top right of the Logos window) that will provide status of the indexing. Please enable logging now and kill the indexer (LogosIndexer.exe) in Task Manager. Restart Logos to resume indexing and wait until it finishes. Then upload the log files folder as described in the wiki.

One thing I need to clarify. The whole Search Block is missing not just the morphological segment. This is something I use very consistently in my preparation as well as in my teaching. There are a couple of work around that I can do but they are more time consuming and defeats the purpose for which I use Logos. Hopefully the Log Files will shed some light on the problem that just started yesterday/today.

Evidently it was an issue of indexing and reindexing. It went through six different index processes but now it is working incredibly well like it should. I appreciate all your help in this matter. I don't know if the Log Files will shed any light on this matter. May His blessings abound upon you all.

I don't think so. It's very unfortunate that you and others have to go through repeated indexing with no idea what is happening in order to restore basic functionality.
