Too much updating

It seems like almost every single time I open the program, there is an update that needs to take place and then after the update, it does its indexing which slows my computer down to a crawl. i wouldn't mind an update once a month, but I get them much more frequently and this is time consuming and a hassle. As an IT person, i appreciate the updates and know their value. But, this is affecting how much I am able to use your program.

Are you aware that you can disable the automatic download of updates which leaves you in control as to when they take place?

Please note this affects everything - both software updates and newly purchased resources.
