Coping footnotes into Pages for Mac

I recently switched to Pages on my Macbook. When I copy and past items from Logos to pages the sources cited, which usually pastes in a footnote, does not come over at all. How can I get those citations of whatever commentary that I copy and pasted from into Pages?
