Could we have some way of filtering out foreign language posts in the Recent Topics on the forums?

Some days there are more than others, and they can fill up the list and and be in the way of the posts I can understand:

EDIT: I should say posts from foreign language forums. If some multilingual wit posts in the General forum with a subject line like "Joyeux Noel" or "Plus ça change..." or "Oy vey!", I would be happy to read it.

I'd prefer a more general solution of excluding certain forums from the Recent Posts screen. That way I could exclude language specific forums and product-specific forums for products I don't use (Proclaim in particular).

Yes, that makes sense. In fact, I think that has been asked for before.

There is already a way to filter foreign language posts—just don't read them. Personally, I enjoy them.

I would read them if they came with an Interlinear. [:P]

I do sometimes read and respond to the French ones. But I'm afraid I cannot read German or Spanish or Korean, etc.

I've been working with Bible translators and after that in the international mobile telecommunication business, thus the "Babel" feels normal. Just wonder if we Christians are expected to be proactive in the global community as in acts 2.

In an international community you can experience anything: in Africa the telecom operator personnel may sing Christian African songs as a choir while working in the office, and a couple or times I had to join Ramadan fasting with others. Best thing was when I sent an email to both Jesus and Mohammed.

I must admit that I somewhat stumble through some of the posts and Chinese or Korean (do we have Korean posts?) aren't even stumbleable, but I appreciate their presence. I would like to filter them out of my home page though. French? Really? Deutschland über alles !

I appreciate their presence too. Multilingual body of Christ all over the world -- yeah, bring it on!

All I was talking about was filtering them out of my normal reading experience, not removing them altogether. And by filtering out, it means I could still check in on them once in a while if I felt like it, but my daily experience would be mostly in English since that's my mother tongue and I don't (yet) hear/see each language as if it were understandable to me like in Acts 2. Someday...
