Why must the whole computer be restarted for a Scan to work?

On the Mac - if you SCAN a folder to pick up files (for example personal books compiled on another computer), you MUST restart the whole computer in order for the Scan to work! You cannot just type the Scan command and restart Logos/Verbum, as on Windows.

This has been reported before, can this be fixed? It is very disruptive to have to restart your whole computer if working with files to Scan to a library, and really, is there any app that requires a computer restart anymore?

Apologies: unable to replicate using Logos 6.1.0.0016 on OS X 10.10.2 that scanned a folder after restarting current stable Logos 6.1 release.

Checked Logos 6.1 sync complete, which included latest licenses
Connected network share folder to Logos 6.1 Installation on Windows
Entered scan /Volumes/Logos5data
Verified /Volumes/Logos5data was added to scan path in Logos.log
Quit Logos 6.1
Used Activity Monitor to verify Logos Indexer was not running
Launched Logos 6.1
Verified new resources were discovered, copied, and indexed using Indexer.log
Verified new Vyrso ebook added yesterday was in Library

Note: my Logos 6.1 installation on OS X has automatic downloads set to No.

Maybe Scan works once after a restart but not again? Can you duplicate the test again now, without restarting your Mac?

I am on same OS X but I am on Verbum 6.1.0016. I have had at least one bug specific to Verbum before, maybe it is Verbum only?

It has never worked for me.
