Only two volumes of Pillar commentaries are available on iPhone

Only two volumes of the Pillar commentary series are available on the iPhone app and library.logos.com for my account: Moo on Colossians, Philemon and Davids on 2 Peter, Jude

I purchased Moo as an individual purchase but I assume the availability of Davids is due to my upgrade to Platinum.

If that is the case, where is Carson on John, Morris on Matthew and Romans, O'Brien on Ephesians, etc.?

Is there some sort of publisher restriction on the first 8 volumes that does not apply to the most recent releases?

If so, when might we expect this to be worked out?

Not necessarily. Some books haven't made it because of file conversions -- though I don't have the authority to say which this is.

I wonder if they negotiated mobile-use rights with all newer resources, and the old ones have to be renegotiated.  (Just like music rights in older movies).

Carson is not available on iPhone but it is logos4 file on computer.

Brown (AYB) is available on iPhone but it is lbxlls file on computer.

I assume that logos4 file conversion is not necessarily related to iphone file conversion?

I've always gotten the impression that mobile format was not .logos4, but something else. So yes, I would think that just because a .logos4 files has been produced doesn't mean that a mobile version has been made (think of all the titles that were probably in .logos4 at launch but didn't have mobile rights.

so far the only limitations I have read about is getting publisher rights.  what leads you to believe lack of access to these has something to do with formatting issues?

    That was Mike's suggestion above.

I don't know the reason for this. I can't discern a consistent pattern.

If publisher's rights are the issue, it seems odd that there are some volumes from Pillar available while others are not. Same publisher. Even same series. But inconsistent availability.

If file format is the issue (and it might be given Kevin Becker's observation), it seems odd that Carson's volume is formatted for logos4 but not iPhone while Brown in AYB is not logos4 format but is available in iPhone format.

    Todd,

I think you must be right because the only two volumes of Pillar I have available are Davids on 2 Peter, Jude and Moo on Colossians, Philemon.

None of the eight in the original set are available.

But wouldn't you think that the original eight would be an easy lift on this?

It is still surprising that AYB, NICNT, ICC and others are available but not the first eight volumes of Pillar.

By the way, all of this is just an interesting observation to me. I'm really not complaining.

I don't know of any reason to suspect formatting is the problem.  It does not seem odd to me that some volumes are up and others are not, it just seems par for the course in the publishing industry which is full of things like this.
