Highlighting

I'm pretty sure that all of my extensive highlighting of the Bible, Study Bible, and books are stored in a single file within my Logos library.  Is it too late for me to create a separate highlighting file for each book in my library (e.g., via cut&paste of my highlights)?  I'm guessing this will improve performance.  Please advise.  What is the name of the highlighting file and where can I find it?

    Hi Frank

You will have your work cut out but you can do it.

Go to documents and check out the list under 'Notes'

    Click on Documents.

On the left you will see the different types of New documents you can create.  Notes is one type that is in that list.

On the right you will see the documents that you can Open - those are documents that already exist in your Logos account.  Double Click on one of your note files and you will see all the notes that it contains.

If all your notes are truly in one file, you can also create a new note file (Documents - New (on the left side of pull-down) and click Notes) and drag notes from your first file to your new one.

At the suggestion of someone in a previous forum post, I name my notes files in this format "NH - author name - bookname" or "NH - topic name" if I am pulling notes for a particular study.  The "NH" stands for Notes/Highlighting, since your highlights also live in these files.

Can you help me please? I have noticed that the erase button does not work for me anymore. I noticed it first with Logos 7 ... want to remove some old highlighting which appears messy!

I am running Logos 9 on an Apple imac with Catalina.

    Thank you

    Two suggestions:

    • Ensure you have the entire highlight selected before clicking the Erase button
    • hover over a highlight and see if it indicates that it is a Corresponding Annotation. If so, you will need to erase it from the resource it was made in

If neither of these addresss your issue please start a new thread in the Logos 9 Desktop forum
