How could I search for all Old Testament quotations in the New Testament? [I did it once but cannot reconstruct how I did it.]
6661.O.T. Quotations in Matthew.rtf
Here's what I discovered myself:
Thanks Bill. I put your advice into my note file on searching. I appreciate that.
I wasn't sure if you were aware or not but if you have difficulties with the syntax of milestone searching like I do, you might find it easier to consult resources like these:
Old Testament Quotes in the New Testament
Old Testament Quotations and Allusions in the New Testament
Have a great day,

Just slightly off-topic: are there Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament that are not in the new Testament listed anywhere in the existing Logos resources?
are there Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament that are not in the new Testament
Can you give an example of one? Messianic prophecies that come to mind are either explicit in the OT and usually quoted or alluded to in the NT or they are not explicit in the OT but the NT informs us that a passage was to be read with a reference to the Messiah (e.g., out of Egypt, I called my Son). The latter, by definition, would be in the NT. Can you think of examples of the former that are NOT quoted or alluded to in the NT?

I have a list my friend made based on some book by Kaiser. Most of them are in the NT, too.
I am too lazy to go through them all unless it is necessary. One example is Gen 9:27 "May he live in the tents of Shem". Well, some may have different views, but this was in his list, and not in the list in Old Testament Quotations and Allusions in the New Testament .
One example is Gen 9:27 "May he live in the tents of Shem".
I don't recall hearing that one. On what basis is it identified as a messianic prophecy? Since Christ is a descendant of Shem, how is Japheth dwelling in the tents of Shem a messianic prophecy?
On what basis is it identified as a messianic prophecy?
Well, I have no idea, and I don't have that book by Kaiser. (W. Kaiser the Messiah in the Old Testament. It is not in Logos, but https://www.logos.com/product/17276/the-promise-plan-of-god might be the same book with a new name)
The old Jewish and rabbinic interpretation have a different logic than our western logic, and it may be behind the picking up Gen 9:27 as a Messianic prophecy?
