Is this a very bad Pre Pub deal or am I missing something?

Teach the Text Commentary: Matthew just went on Pre Pub

1. It's price is $35.99 - regular price marked as $39.99, only 10% off.

2. The rest of the Series, Teach the Text Commentary Series (6 vols.), is released, and its regular price is $167.95. That's $28 per volume at regular price!

3. The series is 1888 pages. Price per page is 8.9 cents a page. Matthew is 352 pages, price per page is 10.2 cents per page on Pre Pub.

I am trying to figure out why this volume is so high. Unless I am missing something it is not a very good deal for Pre Pub? It seems like REGULAR price of Matthew should be around $31, and PrePub around $25 - $27 if there's to be any Pre Pub incentive?

Is this just a pricing mistake?

Not all books go through PrePub and not all get a substantial rebate at PrePub. I seem to remember that Baker didn't go through PrePub at all at some point in the past (unless they buried a dozen books in a $$$ collection), so 10% might be not a bad deal.

FWIW, I've seen the "regular price" given as "list price" elsewhere (with a discount for the paper book and the ebook), which at least means that the tagged Logos edition at regular is not going for more than list price.

A bundle usually gets a certain discount against the total of books included. I see that TTT Luke and TTT Romans sell at 39.99 currently in Logos - presumably large works comparable to Matthew (OT works are cheaper, but I assume less customer interest for those)

This may be covered already here but not all publishers permit rebates or even academic rebates. I was briefly getting the printed copies of this series but returned it favoring the whole set in Logos one day at any price. The series I saw so far really rocks and is great for factual Bible study prep I think. I am currently cash poor and have to wait so will be passing over the prepublication costs.
