Not sure if this is possible, but I wanted to do a search for all notes that I have made that use a particular "note indicator." You know, "star," "triangle," "circle," etc.
Is that possible?
How many annotation files do you want to search?
I have a file for each book of the bible.
I know of no way to search notes by icon type, color or other formatting internal to an annotation file. However, I am curious as to what advantage you find with having a separate note file for each book of the Bible. Are you creating notes based on Bible references or based on topics? The point of my question is that if you had all notes in one file, you could easily scroll down to see your stars or whichever type of icon you are looking for. And, should you be interested in doing so, do you know that you could drag and drop your notes from one file to another? This would be one way of converting multiple files into one.
Moreover, you can, within a single annotation file, sort your individual notes "by note color". As it turns out, it also sorts them by note icon type. See picture below:
I wasn't aware of this; very helpful for some clean-up I had to do. Thanks, Francis! [:)]
originally did it this way because I started under the original version of Libronix way back when. When note file sizes got too big there were problems and a tech suggested keeping note file sizes smaller (especially on the super buggy mac versions that were coming out).
I had not thought of putting it all in one main "Note" file before, but it is worth considering.
thanks
Also, in Logos 6, you can tag and/or attach a label to your notes. At this point, the pay-off is limited because, even though these are searchable, the way the search window displays results from user documents is practically useless (it only tells you there are hits and how many but does not give you a list of which entries are hits). This has been brought to the attention of FL and Bradley Grainger had mentioned at the time that they were looking at fixing this "soon" (he wrote that at the beginning of January, see https://community.logos.com/forums/p/98674/681447.aspx#681447).
Once these function as they should, they would be more powerful options to sort out your notes than color and icon type. See picture below:
Note that unlike labels applied to the text of a resource, "Add a Label" in annotations does not require a visual style and to pick from predefined labels, you can enter a label "on the fly".
