M'Cheyne Reading plan issues

I recently purchased the book "For the Love of God." This book uses the M'Cheyne reading plan and I was hoping to use the reading plan feature to follow along. However, the reading plan will not let me customize it so it will not start from January 1st and no other changes can be made either.  Has anyone else had this problem and if so how can it be resolved?

For clarification: you are trying to create a reading plan documen, but you are unable to get the "January 1st" reading to start sometime else (I.e today). Is that right? If so, have you tried creating the plan starting on "January 1," and the. Using the right click "adjust from here" on today's date?
