Blue light filter option
Having the option to Change the blue light options on my Android device has been a huge boon to my evening reading. The sepia option on the ipad app is decent but I was wondering if others in the faithlife community would agree with me that having the ability to Change the blue light options would be a great asset on the ipad app.

I have no idea what you are talking about. Care to explain?

George,
As far as I know Android itself doesn't include the ability to filter blue light. Are you referring to a third party app?

Blue light is a form of light emmited by screens that cause strain on the eyes and apparently impair sleeping patterns if viewed before going to sleep. Apple's ios prevents any app from reducing blue light levels beyond a single app. Android has apps that reduce blue light so I thought it would be great if logos could go the extra mile and provide this for its apple users.

Yes, I've read about this.

This I didn't know.

Please see here for instructions on how to post suggestions for the mobile apps.

I still don't understand. If Apple prevents apps "from reducing blue light levels" then how can "logos go the extra mile and provide this for its apple users"?

Apple prevents any third party app from altering blue light levels for other applications. You can still have an app that allows for light manipulation in that app. For example, there are browser apps in the app store that allow the user to Change blue light levels. Those changes only apply to the browsing app though. Once you go to the home screen or go to another app, the light levels return to normal.

I would love to see Logos incorporate this as well!

I would also like to see this option. I have tried to stop reading my ios devices at bedtime and went out and bought a Kindle Paperwhite. So if I want to read Logos books I'll use the Send to Kindle option.

I didn't know about this before this post, but saw some before and after pics online with an app for this and it looks amazing in how it would ease device eye sting. Hopefully ios will eventually add a built in filter for this! In the meantime it would be an excellent feature for Logos! I actually can't find any reading apps that have this. Wondering if there are any for iOS.
