[resolvedBUG: URL Locations in Personal Books are not accurate

logosres:rosebibleatlas;ref=Page.p_30;off=350
Here is an example of a Link to a Map that I incorporated in a Personal Book. It appears that the link is ignoring the code at the end (off=350) and just jumping to the beginning of the page. Can anyone confirm this bug and also let me know if it will be fixed.

Yes, I can reproduce this in 6.2 Beta 2. I'm not an employee of Faithlife, so I can't let you know if it will be fixed, but I should think they will agree it is not correct behavior. Whether they'll prioritize it for fixing any time soon is anyone's guess.

Thanks Rosie for confirming this. Can I hear from anyone at Faithlife?

Personal Book Builder supports "high precision" links if they include both an "off" and a "ctx" parameter. The link is missing the latter, which is why it's not working.
It seems that it's difficult to generate those links in Logos 6; as a workaround, start selecting text below the image, then extend the selection to cover the image. When you copy location to clipboard, you should get:
logosres:rosebibleatlas;ref=Page.p_30;off=350;ctx=_(Num_13:25$E2$80$9314:45).$0A~____________________
Does that link work for you in PBB?

Helpful to know about that workaround for now.
But is it difficult to make PBB support "high precision" links with only an off parameter? I mean, that offset uniquely determines a location in that resource, and yet the link jumps to the beginning of the page rather than that offset.

FWIW, the "workaround" was only because of the image; I haven't seen any problems reported from creating links in text.

I haven't seen any problems reported from creating links in text.
That is only if you select text and copy location Wiki which generates the ctx parameter.

Bradley:
Is there a way to link to an image so that it will open up in full screen mode?

John, I'm not Bradley, but if there isn't a way to do this in Logos, here's a workaround: you can right-click on an image such as a map in a resource, and then Save As a file on your hard disk, then upload it to some free image sharing site (e.g., Imgur), then include a link to that location in your PB (the URL for the plain vanilla version of the image, not the link to some page that it's embedded in; for Imgur you can get the direct picture URL by right clicking on the image embedded in the page that it provides you and choosing Copy Image URL, or whatever equivalent command you have in whatever browser you're using; that one's for Chrome).

Dear Bradley, I know you guys are super busy over there, but could you please weigh in on my problem at this posting:

The off= parameter does not work for me without the ctx= parameter. Is this a bug or am I doing it incorrectly?
Best,
James

Are you aware that you posted this on a quite old post? Faithlife is far less apt to check in on old posts than new one ... unless someone specifically brings it to their attention. Answer in the other thread but where does the target icon flash -orange ring if I recall correctly? Is it also always top of the page?
Orthodox Bishop Alfeyev: "To be a theologian means to have experience of a personal encounter with God through prayer and worship."; Orthodox proverb: "We know where the Church is, we do not know where it is not."

As far as I know, my earlier post on this thread is still accurate:
Personal Book Builder supports "high precision" links if they include both an "off" and a "ctx" parameter.
Both parameters are required.

Dear Bradley, thanks for your reply, on a Sunday no less. Regarding this thread, I took from your other comment that the off= should work without the ctx= when no image was involved:
[quote]FWIW, the "workaround" was only because of the image; I haven't seen any problems reported from creating links in text.

No, it was about generating the link, not using it.
It seems that it's difficult to generate those links in Logos 6; as a workaround...

Ah, OK. I had misunderstood it seems. Thank you for taking the time to explain. So is it a known bug or is it simply not supposed to work with the off= parameter? If a bug, any idea on when it might be addressed?

Links with only an "off" parameter are not intended to work; the "ctx" parameter is required to resolve the desired link destination.

Back with the same problem links in personal books only goes to top of page.
This link works correctly in Microsoft Word but all personal books links go directly to the top of the page not the location of the image. Does anyone else have this problem and how do I fix it?
