[resolved] 6.2 Beta 2 & 3: Guide/Sermons-section says: no results

Hi,

in the passage guides is the sermons section empty. The problem began with 6.2 beta 2.

Is something changed, so that I have to do something to make it work? Maybe in connection with the collapsable sub-sections?

SOLVED!

Hi,

I have found the cause of the missing sermon-results.

It was my Personal Book with my own sermons. When deleted, everything works fine.

I haven't looked into why, but main thing is, that all other sermons are shown.

Right-click and "Delete" in the Personal Book utility.

Dave is right, the Personal Book should not have caused the problem you were seeing. I would suggest recompiling the book you deleted and see if you can duplicate the problem. If so, post logs so Logos can try and diagnose the issue.

Suggestion - perhaps the delete of the PB (together with a restart most likely) cause a reindex which fixed the problem. While the PB could not cause the problem (easily), it could fix the problem.

Like I wrote, it has worked fine after I deleted my own sermon-docx.

You suggested that my document shouldn't be able to block my sermons-search.

So I re-builded my docx with the personal book utility, and voila: No result in my sermon-part of a guide.

Then I have deleted my own sermons once more, but the problem is still there: No results.

So now I'm back to square one. And you are all right: To delete a docx personal book can't be the solution

PS: Before deleting the docx the first time - when it worked out fine - I deleted the complete logos installation incl. resources - and installed and rebuild afterwords. With no affect.

It sounds like an indexing problem to me, but I would suggest posting logs here for Logos (and other logo experts) to review.

I can't see any issue in the logs and was able to get a Sermon from Heb 1:1-4 but not from the Luke passage. Do you have Sermon Outlines on the Attributes of God, by Al Bryant?

Just to clarify; I'm talking about the sermon-section, not a sermon-outline. (f.x. The Timothy Keller Sermon Archive.)

Keller has a sermon on Romans 8:31–39, but still no results in the sermon-section.

I don't know why the log doesn't show anything.

I sent an email to someone who should be able to alert the Mac developers about this thread.

UPDATE: Logos indicated a bug report has been filed and they will update this thread when the problem / solution has been found.

thank you for your input.

Now I've gone through all my personal books and rebuild them and uploaded them. Except my own 'sermons'-book, which is now listed in the 'Hidden Rssources' section in settings.

After that I ran

rebuild library index and

rebuild personal book index.

Now the sermon-sections in my guides is working.

So you were right: There were issues in connection with indexing of my resources.

Next question you will be asking is: Have you tried to install your personal book with your sermons? It should work now!

My answer is: I'm not that brave. Right now I'm happy to have a software that is working, and I think that I will want to enjoy it for some time.

I would think that the developers might be interested in just what it was about a compiled book that brought you system down. You might consider whether you would let them have a copy for test purposes?

Remarkebly what a sad alternative can do to bravery[;)]

I compiled my document and voila! It works!

Så my guess is, that something bad happened to my index-file(s), and that by an unrepeatable coincident a sort of healing appeared.
