6.2 Beta 2 (Win): Unexpected behavior (longstanding issue)

After downloading the latest update (presumably Beta 3), when I got the notification that the update was ready for me to install, I did as I always do, right-clicked on the Logos icon in my tray. I've never reported this oddness before, but it always happens and does strike me as bizarre: as soon as I right-click on the icon, before clicking the Install command on the popup menu, Logos shuts down, awaiting the command to restart. I would think it shouldn't shut down until after I click on the Install command, because I might have just been exploring with my right-click to see what the option was, but not quite be ready to restart right now because I was in the middle of something. I've never before seen right-click (to pop up a menu) actually DO something in any other Windows software.

That may be difference between right click and click, which does wait before shutting down.

I would more expect left-click to shut down than right-click. And yes, I've noticed that left-click does wait. But right-click is just supposed to pop up a menu in most contexts, not actually do something. So it's surprising. I'd kind of be surprised if left-click shut down too, actually, so I'm not suggesting it should be swapped.

It seems that way (6 out of 6), but left click can do nothing (2x) or provide one action (4x).

Not sure what you're referring to with 6 out of 6. Did you try this six times in Logos and 2x it did nothing, whereas 4x it did something?

Ah, I see. In my case, for 4 of them left-click pops up the same context menu that right-click pops up. For 2 of them it pops up a different menu. And for one of them it opens the app. In no case does right- (or left-) click close an app, and I find that to be a bizarre behavior and disorientating. You might have been in the middle of something and were just curious exploring what that icon did. Yes, I know, Logos will save all your work before closing. But it's still weird and catches me off guard every time. I realize it's not a really big deal. But it's been niggling at me since forever, so I thought I'd report it.

OK, so I just got further evidence of why I find this behavior so unexpected: it doesn't always happen. Just now I hovered over the tray icon and it told me I had new resources that were ready to add. I right-clicked on the icon and it brought up the menu item letting me restart Logos, but it did not shut down Logos until after I clicked "Restart Logos." So it's inconsistent. I suppose right-click only shuts down Logos when there's a new update to the engine ready to install, but if you're just installing new resources, it doesn't. I'll have to experiment a bit over the coming weeks to see if I can prove that pattern.
