For those of us that use a number of different annotation files, the color and style of the icon is precisely part of what helps distinguish them in resources. I often work with several files at once, choosing to file in one or the other based on the type of note I am taking. When that happens, it is somewhat annoying to have to switch style every time. For instance if I use yellow in one set and green in the other, I can only set yellow as default style for all annotation files. So in the "green" file, I have to keep on changing the color every time I enter a new note. If I change the default to green, then I have the reverse problem in the yellow file. Hence the request to have the default style set apply to only one set a time.
While we are at it, it would be good also to be able to edit the style of all notes in an annotation set. It takes time to figure out the best way to style different annotation files so as to have a good system going. It is possible to change one's mind. But changing two hundred little icons is prohibitive. Same deal applies to things like font size. I often have problems there and so discrepancies between individual entries. It would be nice to be able to make changes across the board.
