Mark Read feature not working in latest update

I am using the FaithLife IPad ap to do the 365-day Connect the Testaments Plan.  The last segment is about 4 verses in the Song of Solomon.  When the segment ends at the end of a chapter the mark read banner does not appear so you can't role forward to the next day.

    I thought I read about this issue somewhere, but I couldn't find anything with a google search... 

    A few questions:

    1. What version of the app are you currently using?
    2. Are you in scrolling or page mode? (In either case, does anything change if you scroll/turn the marker out of site and come back?)
    3. Do you have any other reading plans to see if this happens elsewhere? What about other iOS devices?
