Question re Resource Title, Author, Series

I have several commentary sets and have found that most of them share generic titles for each particular Biblical book. For instance, Tyndale, WBC, Baker, NICNT, and Pillar all might name their study on John something like "The Gospel of John." Because of this, I would like to add the author and series title to the list view of commentaries in my passage guide. Is this possible? This feature could also be helpful when a search provides a list of theology books which often have generic titles. Having the author's name included in the output would help me.

Having the ability to manage data fields similar to how one might manage data fields in mail or outlook (sender name, subject, time, etc), would be great. Any thoughts?

You can edit the name of the title of the resource in your library. Then this displays in the passage guide.

Thanks for the quick response. I should have mentioned that I'm trying to avoid that option since I have so many resources. Is there an automated way to include the information I'm seeking in the revised title?

None that I'm aware of. Maybe someone else does. Like you, I'm not going to spend the time it would take to go through and edit each of these individually (although I might for the series I use most often).

I would suggest editing the "mytag" field instead of the actual title field. That way you can sort on it and maintain the orignal title. In case changing it would cause problems for you with future resource updates etc.

But that wouldn't show up in the passage guide which is what he was after.

You could make a suggestion to allow title changes to be bulked. The basics are present in L4 but making changes one at a time is too onerous.
