Removing / Adding Reading Plans in one App affect what is shown in others

In 4.5.1 if I remove a reading plan from the home page or remove one from it in one app then this is synched to another app on the same device.
It also seems to be synced to the apps on my Android phone (though results there are not so clear)
I would have expected these settings to be app-specific.
What is supposed to happen?
