Two Copies of the Same Book

I noticed that I have 2 versions of Walter Brueggemann's Texts Under Negotiation in my library.

What is the difference, if any, between these?

I notice there are three threads about the same issue and still no answer...

I'm looking into this. 1 question: did you buy this title by itself, or as part of bundle, collection, or base package?

LOL...that question would probably be a little easier to answer if I didn't have over 11,000 resources purchased over almost 20 years. It is possible that I bought one of these through MM last year (I'm guessing) and the other may have been part of the Collector's Edition or Reformed Diamond (still guessing). That could be wrong on both points, though. I can tell you I didn't buy it as part of the Fortress Press WB collection...I only have about 40% of that collection.

However, while I have your attention, per my request in this thread, I would like to get some resolution on whether the titles with black prices below are supposed to have discounts. With only a few days left in March, this is time critical.

Thanks, and hopefully you can figure out the double book thing, too.

If anyone wants to give me one of their copies, I'd gladly accept. [:)]

Normally I would ask "Is one of them a (Vyrso) eBook and one of them a Logos edition?" That's what happens if you bought this on Vyrso and it later got upgraded to a Logos edition. You'll get the Logos edition for free, but the Vyrso one won't be removed from your library. You'd need to hide it yourself if you don't want it causing confusion.

But I have this issue too, and they are both Logos edition books.

    One has the support info:

    LLS:TXTNEGOT
    2012-02-20T17:02:15Z
    TXTNEGOT.logos4

    The other has:

    LLS:TEXTSNEGOTIATION
    2013-03-01T00:48:26Z
    TEXTSNEGOTIATION.logos4

According to my tagging, I bought both of them in pre-pub as part of the Bruggemann Collection which shipped on 3/15/2013:

Interestingly, at the time that collection had only 24 volumes and now it has 27. The SKU has changed. It was 25191, and the new 27-volume version now has SKU 43493.

Also, all my tags are the same on both books (though, oddly, in a different order). It would be unusual for me to tag two separate books with the same info together like that. I would likely have noticed if they'd showed up together on the same day.

So it appears that one of them showed up later and inherited the tagging info from its (nearly) identical twin. They aren't quite identical, because the title pages are different:

I noticed that I have 2 versions of Walter Brueggemann's Texts Under Negotiation in my library.

    Same issue in my library:

    TXTNEGOT.logos4, 2012-02-20T17:02:15Z and
    TEXTSNEGOTIATION.logos4, 2013-03-01-T00:48:26Z

both appear to be the same edition although the layout of each electronic edition is slightly different.

No way of telling how these were purchased (a feature lost with Libronix 3).
One was probably included in the Walter Brueggemann Collection (24 vols.), Mar 15, 2013
Second may have been included as part of another bundle as I have all of the present 27 volumes in the  Fortress Press Walter Brueggemann Collection, without having specifically purchased an upgrade to the original 24 volume collection; but no record of one currently listed that included that title.  Theoretically this duplication would have impacted the Dynamic Pricing offered on one of the collections or bundles containing the title.
Was it part of one of the bundles offered with upgrades to Logos 5 from Logos 4 perhaps?

Both files were last updated Dec 3, 2014, which further obscures their origins.

Perhaps while this is being resolved we could add Douglas Moo's Encountering the Book of Romans to the list of possible problems.

I picked up my copy in the 2013 March Madness sale, LLS:ENCBKROMANS  2009-04-07T15:13:34Z ENCBKROMANS.lbxlls

Yet the currently offered version in the MM sale is NOT grayed out for me (which is also the 2002 first edition with the same cover).

This impacts the dynamic price offered for the Baker Encountering the Bible Series (8 vols.) in which it is included.

I agree with others in a different thread that THIS year's MM sale should have included the 2014 Second Edition rather than again offering the 2002 first edition...... [:)]
