[unresolved]Read Aloud Problems on Mac

If you want to be driven crazy, start Read Aloud and then with your cursor move the text position a little. It doesn't like this and starts up another voice, and if you keep doing it another and so on. All the voices talking at once. It is very difficult to stop because the start/stop is a toggle. So you can't get multiple voices to stop. I had to exit the program to get out of it. Does anyone know a better way to stop the voices without exiting?

I would like an OFF key and a different ON key. Or perhaps some check in the program to only allow one voice at a time.

I am using Logos 6.1 SR3 on MAC and read aloud on the ESV.

I'm not on a Mac but this sounds like it could be a bug to me. For a similar issue see - https://community.logos.com/forums/t/97850.aspx

I assume you have tried to control this using the control panel at the top

Capturing a screen cast would be helpful for Faithlife developers and other users to try replicating.

Curious about OS X version? Mac Model?  System Preferences for Dictation?

Apologies: using Logos 6.2 Beta 4 on OS X 10.10.2 with 27" iMac 5K Retina Display that has 4 GHz i7, was unable to replicate voice changing during ESV read aloud by changing ESV location.  For grins, changed voice in System Preference while ESV Read Aloud was in progress, which took effect on verse change.

    Is this still a problem?

As of this morning it still is.

I can't reproduce this in 6.3 (which just went "gold" to all users this morning). Could you update to this latest version and see if it's still an issue? I don't recall a fix for this specifically but it's possible I've forgotten, or it got fixed as part of another change.

Hmm, that is strange, I use Read Aloud on my Mac all the time with Logos 6 and I've never had this problem. I'm guessing it is a bug. What version of Mac OS and Logos do you have? If you update to the latest of both, I wouldn't be surprised if this problem simply went away.

Also, you might try configuring your settings in the Max OS Settings app, as Logos is simply taking advantage of this built-in text-to-speech feature of Mac OS, so it could be that you need to configure something differently in the Mac OS settings for that feature in order for it to work properly with Logos. Just some ideas for you, hope they help!
