First off all I want to thank Logos big time that the cry for the availability of the Logos resources offline has been heard-  that VERY important for us who work as missionaries in nations with low infrastructure.

What I was disappointed about was that none of the search and guide functions work offline.
At least the basic search function should work, and the guide functions need to discover the offline resouces and be functional.
That the iphone is capable of a lot fast searching is proved to me thru the mantisbible sw that I am using so far.

I hope there is a development plan for a more functional Offline mode.
It would be great if Logos would communicate a development roadmap for the iphone app, both online & offlin

Blessings

I also am greatly looking forward to improved services in offline mode as I am using an iPod touch, and whenever I do not have a wifi network to sign in to, I loose many of the wonderful features of Logos on it.

I'm seriously thinking of buying an ipod touch specifically for the offline reading capabilities, as I live in an area where there is very little wi-fi and none where I would be.  I'm not going to starbucks when I can read from home where I have the wi-fi.  So...I'll want to be able to download some of my books for offline reading.  How big of an ipod touch do I need to get?  Will 8 gigs give me enough space?  If I am no longer reading a book, I can delete it and put another on, right?

I don't need to put music on it, as I have an Ipod Nano for music, so it would just be Logos on the touch.

    April,

See this thread here for a discussion of space issues. http://community.logos.com/forums/t/9624.aspx

I use an 8 GB ipod touch and haven't had any problems with space. Also, removing books is as easy as tapping a button!

Since my entire scholar's gold library is about 8 gig, then I think that would be sufficient. But remember a couple of things 1. Not all books are availble for viewing on the iphone/Touch 2. Once you have it, you may find more uses, so look at the 16GB

3rd Generation doesn't have a 16 gig.  The 8 is 199 and the 32 is only 100.00 more so think I'm thinking I'll save a little longer and go for the bigger one.  Thanks for the info, though.  I should have waited before buying the new Ipod Nano.

hearty amen.  offline I have to switch to another Bible app for a simple search.  This is very disappointing.
