Hi Denise. What bird is pictured with your name? I know that is a strange question, but I love birds and can't make out what bird that is. Thanks for your answer.
It should be a raven; the next choice is vulture (for this area) though a closer view is often needed. I say raven since they like the tree tops above us. He's got his hi-res camera turned on scanning for rabbits below our deck.
Separate subject, I notice many avatar birds on the forum.
I guess some are more flighty than others.
Well, at least 'we' can't be tagged with good logic. That remains for our canine friend.
[:D]
And Randall, yours looks like a Roman toilet. I wonder what that says about you? [:P]
Hmmph! [:D] I was thinking of Galatians 5:1 (For freedom Christ has set us free ...) when I created my profile pic years ago.

Looks more like the "seat of Moses" in a synagogue (perhaps in Chorazin (?)).
...Now I'm really curious...where is it exactly? [^o)]

Reuben you are exactly correct. I was there in 2009 and took that picture. Rosie, you are just too funny.[:D]

Well, I wasn't too far off. I know Roman toilets usually come in rows together. But I couldn't tell if there was a hole in the top of that seat or not. It looked just barely like there might have been. And it was kind of fancy looking for a toilet. But I figured it might have been a private one (you know, a "privy" [:)]) for a higher-up Roman.

I can just see a group of Roman men sitting on those reading the Roman Times or talking about how awesome that Gladiator match was the other day at the Colosseum
Those two seats in the corner give the saying "too close for comfort" a whole new meaning. You'd practically be knocking knees. [:O]

I used a very strange women's public bathroom a couple of weeks ago. It was set up like most of them are, with many stalls with doors on them. But one of the stalls was labelled (with an icon) as a two-holer, and there were two toilets in it side-by side with only a clear plexiglass divider that came up waist-high between the two. Very odd. It might have been meant for a mother and child to use together, but they were both adult sized toilets. I mean really! What women like to do their business that close to each other these days? I used it myself, just for curiosity about what was in there. I've never seen such a thing before. However I've heard of it before. The Olympics in Sochi apparently had such stalls, and they raised eyebrows:
And then there's this "his & hers" style toilet. Hmm...
And bringing this thread back to Logos (as if it ever had any connection to Logos), here's a toilet seat that was excavated in the City of David in Jerusalem (this image is from Biblical Archaeology Review 17:03):
I could never have imagined what one simple question would spawn. I'm flushed with surprise.[:|]
Rosie, you didn't say that. lol
