Crash: Logos 6 Service Release 3 Crash on Mac

I get a crash each time I close Logos since the upgrade.

Already sent an email to support with the logs. The error message on the Mac console is:

3/30/15 6:55:03.000 PM kernel[0]: Logos: guarded fd exception: fd 0 code 0x1 guard 0x7fff94fa8c48

And in the crash dump the exception type and codes are:

Exception Type: EXC_GUARD
Exception Codes: 0x4000000100000000, 0x00007fff94fa8c48

Thought I'd post it here as well. The software is working fine when I use it - it just crashes when I close it. Interestingly it doesn't issue any indication of the crash. I only find out about it when I subsequently restart Logos and Mac OS asks me if I want to re-open the same windows because Logos previously crashed. Regardless of how I respond to the Mac OS question I still get the crash on shutdown.

Will keep everyone posted when Logos support responds to my email.

    Walter,

It would almost certainly help if you could post the crash logs immediately following the event i.e. before restarting Logos.

You should be able to find instructions in my signature bar - please use the paper clip in the tool box of the reply window to attach to a new post in this thread.

    Thanks Mike.

I spoke with support last evening (here on the East Coast). I did this because ultimately Logos would no longer even start. We tried several things to no avail - including looking at the logs from the logging utility.

What I ended up doing was upgrading Mac OS X to 9.4.5.  I had no idea there was a 9.4.5 (I was on 9.4.4) as Apple kept trying to push Yosemite to me. I'm not ready for Yosemite because I have a few apps that I need to purchase upgrades for and haven't the funds just yet.

So after installing 9.4.5 and rebooting my Mac went in to a loop with everything crashing. So I restarted in Safe mode and everything looked okay and things in the console logs didn't really point to what was causing this.

Finally, I re-booted again and everything has been fine since, including Logos. And I've done multiple restarts since (I am paranoid having been in the IT industry for over 30 years) and everything appears quite normal and stable now.

    Go figure...

Thanks for the response. You beat me to it - I was going to post this update today.

Glad everything is working out for you Walter.

As an ex-i.t you will appreciate that as operating systems become less and less used the support expertise dilutes very quickly.

You will need to keep your finger on the OS pulse of the OS X 9 community to ensure that you do not miss any security upgrades and also on the apps that you do have.

In due course you might find that you need to upgrade them all at once in order to move onto a current  OS.

Anyway may I pray that your use of Logos goes smoothly for, a while at least.

Oops, I mean't 10.9.4. Sorry for the confusion.

I'm still in the IT profession and we NEVER go to a new release of software until it settles. We call it "staying away from the bleeding edge". [:)]

I'm not sure that Logos 6 would even work with OS 9.

Sorry.... and thanks for your prayers. I need all I can get.
