Visual Copy After the Faithlife Server Outage

Is it just me, or since the Faithlife server outage a while back, there's been fewer backgrounds to choose from in Visual Copy? Before the outage, I had a ton of backgrounds to choose from when I invoked Visual Copy from a Bible, etc. Now it seems the choice of backgrounds is a lot less since the server outage. Did something accidentally get tossed or lost during the outage that pertains to Visual Copy?

Thanks!

    Nathan,

I'm not aware of anything like this - but maybe Faithlife will comment on that. What's your L6 base package level? There were threads recently where we saw that some VC backgrounds (such as author's pictures) don't come with Starter.

It would be best if you gave specific steps to reproduce... many templates are context specific, which means you won't see them. For example, you may have been using one resource, saw a bunch, but now are using a different resource. Or you may have been in one passage, then moved to another. etc.

Thanks for the info! I am on L6 Platinum, so I should have access to "the works". :-)

I'm noticing it mainly in Bibles. I've been using the KJV1900 a lot lately to generate Scripture passages each Sunday for a Facebook page I admin (that have asked me to share weekly Scripture passages with them). Visual Copy has been extremely handy to generate the passages, but the range of backgrounds I've had lately are kind of limited.

I could post screenshots of what I'm seeing so others can confirm it if that'd help.

If I invoke Visual Copy from the Tools menu, is there generally more backgrounds to choose from? I could copy the Scripture text to the clipboard, then use Visual Copy from the tools menu when I need more variety.

    Thanks!

I believe so. Like I said, the choices are context specific, so when you right click Romans 3:23 in the KJV, you will have the KJV theme (but not the ESV, NASB, NIV, etc.) and the "Epistles" theme (but not the Gospels, Wisdom, Acts ones). I believe using the tools menu bypasses the limiters.

Sounds good. When I need more variety, I'll go to the Tools Menu and copy/paste my text in.

Eli comments on this at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/102696/710910.aspx#710910

Thanks for showing this to me. Eli's workaround #2 doesn't work too well on the Mac. It wipes out text that's already in the box if I attempt that. Seems the best workaround is to copy the text, then use "Visual Copy" from the tools menu.

What ideally I'd like to see is have the ones "from selection" appear first, then insert a horizontal divider line under those, and display all the ones from Visual Copy from the Tools menu. That way all the ones "from selection" are still at the top and the easiest to get to, but if I want more variety, all I'd have to do is keep scrolling. :-)
