Auto Update Fails

I have had L4 installed since Alpha 3, and have had no particular problems until a couple of weeks ago. I currently have A9 installed, and every time I launch it the software informs me that there is an update to be installed. I confirm that it should go ahead and install the update, but after a couple of minutes I get the message:

Update Error!

An error occurred while extracting the archive. Please try again later.

The only option at that point is to cancel the update. This leaves the Update Installer open but not doing anything. However long I lave it open, nothing else happens.

For reference, I am installing this on a MacBook Pro 17" running OSX 10.6.2 with 4GB of RAM and over 200 GB of free disc space.

My basic question is fairly straightforward: I assume the easiest thing to do at this point is to remove the application and install a fresh copy. However, what do I need to delete, and what do I need to leave behind in order to do a fresh install without having to download all the resources again? Or, is there some better way to get the application past the inability to auto-update?

    Do three things:

    a) delete the Logos4 dmg from /Users/<your
    username>/Library/Application Support/Logos 4/Date/Updates

    b)
download the latest dmg from the A 11 release notes post on this forum

    c)
Copy the Logos 4 app into your applications folder.  Replace the older
    file when prompted.
