Hi.
The drop down list of the Topic Guide does not appear after I type a word (theme or topic) in the Reference box.
Big Thanks to the person(s) who can help solve this problem.
Logos 6.0b SR-2, 6.0.2.0075. MacBook Pro, OSX Yosemite.
First, your copy of Logos is well out of date. Try using the command update now. If that doesn't work, use the "install" link in my signature line to manually update.
This thread will be moved to the L6 forum.
Where do I find the command update now?
What and where is the "install" in your signature?
Thanks.
Where do I find the command update now
You must type it in the command bar. This wiki article is old, and references L4, but should help you: https://www.logos.com/training/logos4/windows/command_bar
Right under the words you are reading right now.
You enter it into the command box at the top of the screen
Alabama was referring to the link in his "signature" - the text at the bottom of each post he makes to the forum. He was suggesting you click on the link outlined in red below
Thanks Graham! [:)]
Thanks, Graham!!
Thanks, alabama24!!
Logos 6 is updating as I write.
Let us know if you have problems after the update.
This message appeared about six hours ago:
Downloading 7.36 GB of updates (22% complete).
Now - six hours later - the message is still the same.
How long does it take to download the size of this update?
I have broadband access to the Internet.
It depends upon the speed of your internet and the servers Faithlife uses... but something does seem wrong. What specific version of OS X are you using?
OS X 10.10.1
i see a pattern here... You don't like to update. [:P]
there was a bug in 10.10.1 which caused slowed or failed downloads in logos. It was fixed in a subsequent update. OS X is now at 10.10.3. Installing the update <should> resolve things for you... I hope. [:)]
The update to OS X 10.10.3 was successful.
Now another problem: the fan in my MBP runs loudly and non-stop while Logos 6 is indexing.
Activity Monitor of the MBP shows that indexing exceeds 300% of CPU.
The fan returns to normal after I quit the indexing process.
What's your advice?

that isn't all that unusual... Let it run over night.
The indexing process was successful.
The Topic Guide is working.
The MBP's fan is running super quiet -- the way it should.
Many thanks for all your help.
Our pleasure. [:)]
