Opening a Resource

Hell, I am having a great difficulty in the ability to recall a commentary on my android device. It says it has downloaded but then when I go to recall that resource from the library it appears with "an unknown error has occurred opening resource".
I have tried removing the resource and re-downloading it. I have rebooted the android device with no avail. Does anyone have some other ideas in regards to getting a resource to open when this happens?

how might I update the version if it is needing to be updated?

Have you tried going to the Google Play store? The current version is 4.5.0.
