Annoying Behvior
Before saying anything else, I want to say that I'm really starting to like this Bible app. When it 1st came out, it was a tough sell compared with other Bible apps on my phone. As it matures, I'm finding it a much handier "go-to" resource.
Others are going to WANT this behavior, but I find it annoying.
Only two weeks of a year do I want Bible 4.5.0 (Build 419) to mirror my desktop notes setup. For the remainder of the year, I do not want ANY notes to display on this device, because I use it only for quick lookup & the screen real estate is too small to want any of the notes visible. So right now, the process looks like this:
- Work on desktop in a layout preparing a Bible study, where I make heavy use of note files & highlight notes.
- Shift to sermon work (new layout on the desktop where I do NOT use or want the Bible study highlights or notes.
- Use Android for a quick lookup. Discover that notes are enabled again (is it picking them up from the visual filters in the last opened layout?)
- Turn notes & highlights off for this resource.... again.
- Shift back to Bible study prep.
- Repeat 1-5 each week...
What are my options?
- Can I CHOOSE a desktop layout without notes or highlights JUST for Android to sync to (I don't mind setting one up )?
- Can I globally turn off Android's notes/highlights sync (except for those 2 weeks a year)?
Either option would work for me if available... What's your counsel?

Bill

Per-device layouts are not supported.
Can I globally turn off Android's notes/highlights sync (except for those 2 weeks a year)?
I will write up a case to see if we can implement this.

Thanks for the response! I understand that layouts specific to a device aren't supported. Just to clarify, I have multiple layouts on my laptop L6 setup. Can I choose which layout on my laptop that Android Bible syncs to? Or does it sync to ALL layouts on the desktop? I have multiple desktop L6 layouts with a different highlight schema that I use in each one. How does Android Bible know which one to sync to? If I can choose which layout gets synced, I think I'm covered...
Regardless, thanks for listening, & thanks for a great app. [:)]

Layouts are Desktop specific and are not synced to mobile devices.

So you're saying desktop notes & highlights are synced whenever they're included in the visual filter?
In that case, I'm hoping you can give us a global switch to turn it off. There's no way I can predict (I've done so even WHILE working on the desktop!) that I might want to pick up my phone & do a quick lookup on something else in Bible. And except for those 2 weeks a year (when I'm working on a DIFFERENT Android device--a tablet) there's no way I want my phone screen real estate cluttered with highights or notes.
Thanks so much for a great app, & thanks again for listening.

Let me be clearer on my question... exactly what notes / highlight notes DO get synced to Android?
- ALL notes & highlight notes?
- Only SOME notes & highlight notes? If so, which ones? What on the desktop (or Android app) controls the behavior?
Thanks again!

All notes documents (which may include highlights) are synced to the mobile platforms (including Android)

So you're saying desktop notes & highlights are synced whenever they're included in the visual filter?
They are always synced - the filter simply controls whether or not they are displayed in the resource
