Recent updates on my PC have made it more difficult to order and filter reading plans, leading to these suggestions.
This is an issue for me (and I suspect many others) because reading plans are a powerful way to discipline myself into reading a lot and completing books, rather than just starting and then forgetting about them.
It would be helpful to have the following features in reading plans:
- An easy way to order reading plans, e.g. drag and drop, to make setting up personal priorities and organisation much faster
- Reading plans to be in the same order and with the same visual layout on every device
- A picture of the book cover (and minimal text) as a part of the reading plans overview visual interface
- A feature which automatically ignores the title/contents/copyright/appendices, etc. when setting up the reading plan. This allows the reader to set up more easily and accurately get a sense of the time it takes to get through a book.
- The ability to select a set number of words or pages or Bible verses for reading plans, again to help with knowing predictable lengths for planning and to set up extended scripture memorisation easily.
I would suspect that there are many people who would love to read much more, and to make use of the "in-between" times to read more effectively. This would help immensely!
