When an OT translation uses LXX instead of MT, link to LXX in the Rev Int

In looking at Genesis 47:21, many translations abandon the Hebrew Masoretic text, following the LXX (and the Samaritan Pentateuch). But the Reverse Interlinear still follows the MT.

I'd like to suggest creating a way to account for the discrepancy in the rev. int. either by reconstructing the Hebrew (probably not a good idea), or by simply including the LXX. (I have no idea what language the Samaritan Pentateuch is in, so that probably wouldn't be helpful.)

Marking the rev int text in some special way would help a reader unfamiliar with the textual issues to understand what is happening.

(I understand that this can quickly become very complicated.)

In L6, the Exegetical Guide includes a textual variants section which helps with this (FL's own Lexham Textual Commentary is quite good). The difficulty in having the reverse interlinear correspond to the base text used exactly is that it is often not so clear cut. If a translation uses UBS6 for its textual basis, but adopts a footnote reading in one place, does Faithlife need to hunt everything down?

That's exactly what Logos does do. All the reverse-interlinears have effectively a reconstructed Greek text underlying them that corresponds (so far as is possible to determine) with the textual critical editorial decisions made by the original translation team.

But I don't think it's a good idea for Logos to abandon the MT for the entire verse. If I searched for עַם (am, people), I would expect a result in Genesis 47:21, even if a few words in the middle of the verse of my English translation came from the LXX. And I could imagine that mixing Greek/Hebrew mid-verse in the RI might present significant technical challenges.

Are you sure? I've found places where this is not the case, most recently in the NLT (I don't remember where). If this is what Logos intends to do, this should be reported, right?

If I gave that impression (change the whole verse), then I wrote poorly. I would expect the variant to be limited to the point(s) of variation. Nothing more.

No doubt. In this case the Samaritan Pentateuch (in Hebrew according to David Knoll, above), offers a possible way to do this preserving a Hebrew text here. There is also, somewhere, a Hebrew translation of the LXX (I think), which would offer another possibility for preserving a reconstructed Hebrew text, rather than inserting something from the LXX.

The Septuagint with Logos morphology already gives a reconstructed Hebrew text.
