[resolved] Major Download Weirdness - what is going on?

Much download weirdness going on.
- A dead "resources are ready to be added" link - nothing happens when clicking it.
- The amount to be downloaded slowly increases. From 2.53GB it counted up to 3.31GB before I cancelled it. Before beginning to count up, download froze at 73%
- After cancelling the download, I now have "973MB ready for download"
- "Preparing library" also visible constantly.
Also if I go to the Home Page, it doesn't list any resources as having been added.
Exactly what state is the download thing in? Is this to do with the new "restart not required" thing? If so, why is it asking me to restart?
Very confused now. If you can help me understand what is happening and how to get things back on track, that would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Richard

Are you running stable 6.2 or beta 6.3?

6.3b1 - going by other forum posts this is probably a beta issue as others are having similar.
Thanks

Indeed!
I think all the issues you raise have been flagged and recognised.
Hopefully beta 2 will address some of them.

- This is a known issue listed in the release notes for beta 1. This will be resolved in beta 2.
- By default the system downloads a patch file for resources that is smaller than the full download. If the patch file can not be applied (due to a corrupted download, or other problems), then the system falls back and downloads the full version of the resources. This will make the amount to download increase. If you post your logos.log file we may be able to help figure out what is causing the problem.
- This makes sense to me. Some of the downloads completed, but others were still unfinished.
- This is normal behavior. Rather than waiting until all resources are downloaded before adding them to the library, the system instead adds resources to the library as they are downloaded. While resources are being added to the library, you will see the "Preparing library" notification
I am surprised to hear that no updates were displayed on the home page. I wouldn't expect that unless all of the updates failed to be added to the library. Your logos.log file may help determine what is going on.
As detailed in the release notes ( https://wiki.logos.com/Logos_6.3_Beta_1 ), if a resource can not be updated because it is already open, then you will still need to restart your system in order for the update to occur.

Hi
Thanks for replies. On opening L6 this time, there are no notifications except "Restart required" which is covered in your email, so no more downloads or indexing taking place.
Will keep an eye on it and post again if the situation develops.
Thanks
