Groupthink is such a dismal science...(CP Woes in Action)

This is very disappointing on so many levels.
There is no good reason this CP is closing at this outrageous price. This is nearly $5 per title when $2 or less is exceedingly common. There are no nice words for this travesty--it's just plain stupid. Why? Because throwing money away is the opposite of smart, and there is no sensible reason for bidding this CP over the top at this price. Just how stupid is it? Well, just think about it. There are hundreds of CPs being offered, and if each one closes at $10-20 (sometimes $30-40) above what it could easily and reasonably close at, that's not just potentially but actually hundreds and even thousands of dollars each year more than we would otherwise spend if these things would just close at levels that are entirely realistic and possible...IF people would think about their bids proactively rather than reactively. Just bidding the current peak even though it is absurdly over-priced out of fear that if you don't bid green you could lose out demonstrates an embarrassing lack of intellectual courage and backbone. Throwing money away unnecessarily out of a desire to "set it and forget it" is a shameful failure of financial stewardship.
As much as I would like to have these titles (at a reasonable cost), when I look at this trigger price, I can't help but notice that there are other much more valuable CPs that are lingering in virtual limbo because they aren't getting bids at this same price point or slightly higher. For example...

This series is a mere handful of bids away from peaking at $50, only $2 above the trigger price of the Samuel collection, yet it is infinitely more valuable than the commentaries could ever hope to be. This series could and should easily close at $40 or lower, but it has been stalled in this position for nearly a year. Sad.
Why should you get this Methods series? Because approximately 50% of the resources Logos offers have one or more of these methods as the framework underlying the content being presented. Unless you are an expert in each of these methods of Biblical study (and I seriously doubt that even 1% of Logos users can meet that criterion), you ought to make purchasing this series a priority as a matter of intellectual integrity.

I just made a post about this as well - https://community.logos.com/forums/t/104029.aspx

What can be done to resolve this regrettable situation?
Simple...everyone who has a bid in at $48 should immediately lower their bids to $42, and then when it is about to close at $42, they should lower their bids to $36. It would be easier just to bid $24 (the highest reasonable bid) and just wait for others to jump on that well-priced action, but I understand that minds controlled by fear can't muster that kind of courage all at once. So, the baby step option is the best way to handle this situation.

I just bid $24. Even though I've never missed one of these classic commentary sets I'm not sure I want to pay any more than that.

The first few bidders generally get to choose the price, then almost everyone else follows the pack. Far too often though, those early bidders pick the middle number in the range, even if it is high and then we're stuck with it.
I think it would be better if the graph was displayed with the centre point at 80% discount (where most CPs end up) and with smaller increments around it - say a range of 70% to 90%. Logos could move the range either way later if necessary.
