Logos crashes when adding ESV Study Bible to split screen
I can have my Bible open in Logos on my iPad, but when I split screen and try to add the ESV Study Bible the program crashes. I can have other books on the split screen. So far the only book that seems to do this is the ESV Study Bible. If I have Logos app open to my screen with the split screen with ESV Bible and ESV Study Bible right away, it crashes immediately and I can't get in to the app. I went under the iPad settings and changed it to open to homepage, so I can now get in, but anytime I try to add ESV Study Bible to the split screen the app crashes.

The ESVSB is a VERY large resource and is taxing to the system. I am currently downloading it to try and help you trouble shoot. In the meantime:
What version of the app are you running? How much free space is left on your device? When did you last do a fresh install of the app? iOS?
For kicks, try:
- Killing all apps via the multi-task bar.
- Perform a full shut down and restart of the device.

I actually tried your just for kicks suggestion twice already. Earlier this week, I did a fresh install of the app and had to download my ESV bible and the Study Bible. I worked ok for a couple of days then crashed again. Just for kicks I tried the Verso app to see what happened there. I encountered the same problem, all was well until I tried the ESV Study bible and BAM, the app crashed. Frustrated.

I bet. I have a third gen iPad and know that the day is coming when I will need to replace it. I am not sure, but it may be a hardware issue. The ESVSB is currently 1/3 downloaded on my device, so I'll let you know what I find out. I don't know how long it will take... Verizon has had troubles here for a couple of days. If someone else has an iPad 2, it would be good to find out if they can get the resource to open while downloaded.
What version of the app did you say you were running? How much free space on the device?

Both look good.
I was FINALLY able to finish the download, and I don't have any troubles opening up the ESVSB. When you try to open it, does it crash immediately, or can you see anything at all? I'm wondering if a particular passage in the resource might be corrupt. If you can't see anything at all, what passages were you viewing in your ESV? What passage does the ESVSB turn to when you open it from within L6?

This is a bug affecting some downloaded resources. It is fixed in internal builds. The workaround is to remove the resource from the device and use it online only.

I repro'd it on an original iPad mini, which is about the same specs as iPad 2. The bug practically only affects 32-bit devices and is less likely to occur on devices with more RAM.

Thanks Dave and Alabama24. I deleted the book and used it on-line and Walla. Everything works. Guess I need to let my wife know I have something on my Christmas list.
