Timeline: pin a baseline event/person

One of the most useful aspects of the timeline tool is to highlight relationships. I find that the wealth of information that is available can get in the way of visualizing these relationships, even when one uses the filters that are provided.

For instance, I was interested in placing Thucydides in relation to events and other key individuals. First problem: in order to show Thucydides, I need to have "individuals" on. When I want to place him in relation to events, the view is cluttered because all the other significant individuals also appear. Even with the different color-coding, it is too cluttered and gets in the way of visualization. Second, my baseline item, Thucydides gets pushed down by other elements of the timeline. It is difficult to see how an entry at the top compares with my baseline to which I need to scroll down.

Hence the idea: the ability to pin an entry so that it moves to the top and remains in view no matter what other changes are done. Thus, even if I turn off individuals or change time period, or whatever other changes, Thucydides would remain at the top with dates and span. This, I think, would be very useful.
