I have been collecting up the NICNT and notice there are multiple versions of the same book. What is the story on this?
They're three different books, by three different authors. The middle one is a different series (NIGTC). The top one is the previous edition, from 1971. The bottom one is the current edition.

What is the story on this?
To answer your question more broadly: Most multi-volume commentary sets are written over LONG periods of time. Often revised versions or even brand new resources replace older volumes.
