Question re: Friberg & Aland - Analytical Greek New Testament

In the intro to AGNT, there is a picture of what their analysis looks like but the text [on my screen] display is no different from any other GNT text. I am wondering if something is wrong with the reproduction, my settings or my expectation of what the page should look like.

It looks to me like it was originally set up like an interlinear, but that FL has replaced the interlinear codes with full description in the tool tips. I am a bit curious however as to what they have done with symbols such as the caret, exclamation points and other special symbols (some of which apparently indicating more than one possible analysis). I did not find an instance that shows what they did with this (the one mentioned in the intro, huios in Mt 1:20 shows nothings special in the tool tip).

Did you have a look at the Appendix?

I still have a print copy of this work. Since Logos parses everything in the Greek, not sure what's gained by this resource. I've pulled mine off the shelf once in a while when I was too lazy to fire up the computer, but it seems like a redundant effort.

I got this when Libronix was still selling books. Then I got a refund. I was underwhelmed.

I'm not sure who produced it ... Libronix/Logos or GBS etc.

That said, I might rebuy it, just to check something. I was having fun with CNTTS, and I made visual filters off of the popups, for Aland MSS categories, and then estimated MSS dates. Very nice; just what I needed to 'see' when looking at varients.

I'm thinking to do something similar on the AGNT, where the formatting is missing.

Ron, don't you think that after all this time without a definite answer, it would be more effective to direct your question to Faithlife? Call or send them an email or use the chat button on the product page and see where that leads. Or have you tried that already?

um, no; haven't tried that. Initially, I poked around looking for the "Analytical" part of the resource, couldn't find anything in the settings so I was sure that I was just missing something. I thought it was strange that an analytical work that doesn't analyze was being offered. [This has to be some kind of oversight, right?] I'm sure I got it as part of a package so there is nothing to refund and I am also sure that other books in my Library do everything that this was supposed to do. When I realized that my initial post was not addressed, I thought it may have fallen through the cracks. I'm not overly concerned about it for reasons stated above. That is why I haven't been more proactive in trying to solve this. Maybe I will call. [:)]

The formatting in the AGNT intro is that which is found in the print edition (first picture below), which in the Logos version is formatted as a table (as I recall) so the morph codes, which are used in the following discussion, are visible. The print uses an interlinear display (second picture below), but when the volume was produced in Logos the decision was made to produce it as a standard resource with morphological tagging indexed at the word level and available on popup.

The "more than one possible analysis" seems to be missing. [:|]

The reason I bought and actually use AGNT almost daily is that I've met the Fribergs at a JAARS linguistic computer course at the Taylor University in 1982. I am not competent to say whether its analysis is better than others, I look forward to get some opinions.

Finally I found something (accidentally) with two analyses (bottom left, when hovering the cursor over the word). AGNT gives also more than one meaning. UBS5 gives one analysis and one meaning. NA28 gives the analysis only.
