[ACK] Problem with ESV Audio

I've been enjoying having the ESV Audio docked to my Instrument Panel. However, I've noticed several problems that keep occuring . First, while listening the pause button does not always work. Sometimes if I push pause, it just keeps going. Second, the very helpful reading speed does not always match what it should be. I enjoy 1.4x, and it will frequently switch back to 1x, but still say 1.4x. Third, I cannot get the docked player to stay in my Instrument Panel between sessions. I have updated my layout to include it, but whenever I restart Logos, it's not there.
Thanks for any help!
Daniel

Hi Daniel - and welcome to the forums
What you describe sounds similar to that discussed at https://community.logos.com/forums/t/101643.aspx
Some questions:
- Are you running on Windows or Mac? I assume from your description Mac but just wanted to double-check
- What version of the OS do you have?
- Exactly which version of Logos 6 software are you using?
- Which narrator voice are you using? From the thread I pointed you to its worth trying "System Narrator"

Thanks for the quick reply!
I read that post, but my issues are not the same. Ctrl-R works for me.
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 64-bit
Logos Bible Software 6.2 SR-1
6.2.0.0043I don't think I'm not using a narrator in the sense you mean; I have the Hear the Word ESV Audio Bible with a recorded voice. I'm unaware of how to change the narrator.
Thanks again!

Just to clarify exactly which audio version we are speaking about - do you mean the ESV Audio resource (on the left of my screenshot) or the Read Aloud capability within the ESV (on the right of my screenshot)?
Assuming the one on the right - which I think is the case - then you can change the "Narrator voice" from the panel control panel - the red outlined box in the screenshot
Earlier you refer to your Instrument Panel - do you mean that information displayed in the blue outlined box or something else?
It all works fine for me - but I am running the beta version of 6.3.

PS: I'm going out for a bit so will be unable to respond further for some time but I expect someone else will pick this up.

I guess I'm using the Read Aloud capability within the ESV.
Thanks to your picture I was able to change to System Narrator, but--that's terrible! [:)] I would rather not use the feature at all if that's the workaround.
Yes, by instrument panel I'm referring to the area where the blue outlined box is in your picture. I'd like what's contained in the blue box to stay up between sessions.
Since posting, I've restarted Logos again, and all 3 problems have occurred again.

There may be times (when audio is loading, or the software is really busy doing something) that pause or other actions will take a very small amount of time before actually pausing. If this is not what you're seeing I'd love to know some specific times when the pause button has not worked for you.

Have you noticed a point when the reading speed changes? Between chapters, when you do something specific in app?

The read aloud control is not currently part of a saved layout. In order to get this functionality you could open the audio resource directly into your layout. This would save it and allow you to continue from where you were.

What I'm experiencing is that I push pause and it keeps playing. It's not just a delay, it keeps on going. And at least twice I pushed pause, it kept playing, and when I pushed it again it started playing a second stream on top of the first! Usually it ends up stopping at the end of the chapter (even if that's 5 minutes later).
How can I explain the specific times in a helpful way? I can only think of video capturing what I do. Any ideas?

All I've noticed is that it happens when I push play. It doesn't change mid-stream.

Bummer. It's not a big deal at all, but that would be nice.

Sorry you're having troubles with this. [:(]
I'll share this with our QA department to get it verified and written up as needed.

What is the speed that you usually set for the read aloud? more than 1x?
I can reproduce both of the issues (pause not woring and reading speed changes) that you are experiencing if the speed is set to greater than 1x. I will create cases to get the issues fixed. [:)]

Thank you Angela and Ryan!

Thanks again for your help!
