Sermon prep from tablet using the app
Does anyone have any experience using a 10+ inch tablet to write sermons?
I am going to need to replace my work computer soon. I use a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.1" and a Samsung Galaxy S5 phone. I was wondering if a 10" tablet with keyboard was a viable alternative to a laptop. What would I be missing by using a tablet rather than the full program on a laptop. I'm assuming I'd be missing something. Or that I'd sacrifice speed or some usability.
Another possibility is a 2-in-1 laptop/tablet hybrid running Windows 8. This is where I'm headed now. But I'm hoping for input based on experience and better tech knowledge than I possess.
Thanks for any replies

Hi William,
If you are asking about a 10" Android tablet, the Android app is not comparable to the Desktop app. Since you already have Android devices you can try them out from the Google Play store, they're free and will sync with your Desktop install (just use the same sign-in).

I had made the assumption they are different. I was looking for how they are different. I was hoping to avoid trial and error in recreating an experience that someone else has had.
Does anyone have any experience?

Which Logos Desktop features do you use for Sermon prep?

I'm especially interested in the functionality of the passage guide and exegetical guide and being able to highlight words and get the links for the lexicon etc.

The Passage and Exegetical guides are available along with Word Lookup, but none of these features work if the mobile device is offline.

One thing to bear in mind is that you can only have two open panels in the Android apps.
So, for instance, you can have a Bible open in one panel and run a Passage Guide against a verse and the Guide will open in the other panel.
If you then tap the link for a commentary it will open in the panel with the Bible meaning you can't look at the Bible passage and the commentary at the same time.
This may not be an issue for you but worth being aware of.

Excellent info. Thank you Kevin and thank you Graham.
Based on this, I am thinking the 2 in 1 is looking like the best alternative if I want a tablet like interface. It still functions as a laptop and will run the full program.
Any other info is still appreciated.
