Page Numbers
Can someone please explain what happened to the page numbers in my books? They are all missing and that is very frustrating. I have a paper I am trying to write and none of the sources in Logos has page numbers unless I copy a section and paste it into word and look there for a page number. Please tell me Logos did not remove them.

Also, you won't see page numbers in line <I think> unless you are in paged view (rather than scroll view). Make sure your columns is set to "1" instead of "none."
Sorry, Bama, but you are incorrect. They show up where they are located in the printed resource.

Stephen, as Rick has already mentioned, some resources (generally the ones bought via vyrso.com) do not have page numbers, but it sounds like you're saying you are not seeing page numbers in ANY of your resources. Is that the case?
The page numbers should show up in the reference box at the upper left of the resource:
Are you not seeing them there? Or were you talking about not seeing inline page numbers (which Rick and Jack have both explained how to turn back on).
Logos does not show page numbers at the bottoms of pages like you'd see in a printed book, because the flow of contents on pages can be different from the pagination in the printed book depending on how large you make your resource tabs (they are all resizeable). So in order to know the page number from the printed book for citations, you either have to turn on inline page numbers or copy and paste into Word and rely on the citation that is generated for you there (you have to have Copy Citations turned on in Program Settings for that to come across into Word).

I sometimes have this issue with one resource and not another. It is a bit confusing.

James, can you clarify where the page numbers are missing for you? Inline (as described and pictured above in this thread), or at the top left of the resource in the reference box (also pictured above)?
And did you realize that some resources simply do not have page numbers in them at all (most of the eBook editions from Vyrso.com do not have them), and that is by design. So if it's one of those books, then there isn't anything you can do about it. You can tell whether a book is supposed to have page numbers or not by checking the Info panel (click the 'i' on the upper right of the resource window). If it supports page numbers, then it has a "Page" index listed under "Indexes" on the info panel. If you don't see Page listed there, then it's not meant to have page numbers (e.g., the publisher didn't provide them).

I do not know what happened between today and yesterday, except an update to Logos. I had open NAC, BKC, a couple of journals from DTS, and a couple of Bible dictionaries, trying to find info on excommunication and Church discipline. One of the Bible dictionaries is public domain, so it does not have page numbers. But the others above were supposed to. I have used the resources before and could see the page numbers, along with the option to see them in the Visual Filter. That is why I posted to this forum. I couldn't find anything; not even the page number and issue number at the top of the page in the journals. All page numbers were gone. But they were not there yesterday, nor was the option in the Visual Filter. but when I opened Logos a few minutes ago, it came with an update and the issue is gone. So perhaps there was something wrong or incomplete with the last update. thank you for your replies because I learned some things I never knew about Logos.

I did not know about that Rosie. But yes, all page numbers and the Visual Filter was missing.

I think it has to do with public domain. I hope they assress that issue because scholarly papers require page numbers for resources used. And Smith's dictionary does not have them. So I cannot even use it as a resource because I can't point to the page number, only the topic.

I checked there first, but there was no option. And that was in some of the major resources in Logos.

Thank you. I will reset my columns. That is nice to know.
