[unresolved] BUG:Yet another indexing malfunction

A couple of months ago, there were multiple reports of indexing malfunctions. Today, I experienced an almost total failure of both Library and Bible indexes.

Attempted a search in my Systematic Theology collection for <1 Peter 1:1-2> and received 0 results. Tried this with other passages, including <Romans 9> and All Resources with the same results. However, Your Books produced multiple hits—hence, the almost total failure of indexing. Tried both basic and Bible searches for foreknowledge with 0 results.

Ran Rebuild Bible Index and Bible searches now work.

Ran Rebuild Index while I was out of the house for a few hours. Now, all searches work correctly.

These repeated failures need to be addressed by FL.

As far as I can tell, you submitted logs of the reindexing, but not the actual failure in searching; is that correct?

I had rebuilt the Bible index prior to taking the logs. This was after multiple search failures and prior to issuing the general rebuild index command. If should show some of the basic search failures.

I have not taken logs after the rebuild index command. Would these be of any benefit?

It's unlikely that they would be.

As far as I know, we haven't collected any logs of the failure actually occurring. (And it's not something we've ever reproduced in house.) So we don't have much information to go on when trying to track this problem down.

It is not a consistent failure. I believe this is the second time I have encountered an indexing failure since the release of Logos 6.

Rebuild Index fixed the search issue. However, there have been several reports of index failures on these forums. That is the reason I started this thread. Something is not right with the index routines.

When every search returns 0 results, I do not want to wait around. If it happens again, I will take logs prior to rebuilding any index. The logs I submitted should show failures in the Library index.

The Bible Index, Library Index, and Personal Book Index folders.

An interesting side note to this is that when the indices were broken, my content returned valid results. It appears that the personal book index did not malfunction while the library and Bible indices did fail.
