Copy and Paste Hebrew Text

I have been trying to use the Tools function to copy and paste Hebrew text into a Word document.  When I do, I find that it is impossible to edit in Word without truncated words and changed order.  What am I doing wrong?  (I have a Mac with Word 2008 and Logos 5).

Thank you!

Hi Kathleen - and welcome to the forums

I have been trying to use the Tools function to copy and paste Hebrew text into a Word document.  When I do, I find that it is impossible to edit in Word without truncated words and changed order

There is a discussion of this at https://community.logos.com/forums/p/80726/565182.aspx#565182

Hopefully Mac users will be able to give more insights.

Hello Kathleen, welcome to the Logos forums!

Sorry to hear about your problems.

I am personally not a Mac user, but from readinhe forums a lot, I learnt that Word for Mac seems to be not on par with Word for Windows when it comes to Right-To-Left text, including Hebrew. So it may well be, that your word processor is not capable of treating Hebrew right - other users often recommend a software called "Mellel" for users who want to use RTL text on a Mac.

Maybe some Mac users drop by and can share some additional tips or workarounds to reach the maximum possible in Word - but it may be that there is no good solution other than switching the word processor.

Maybe tangentially related: Since the primary problem is outside of Logos, I don't know if your options become better with L6, but there is a remote possibility that the copy/paste/export has been improved. Update to the L6 Engine is free https://www.logos.com/product/46767/logos-6-core-engine
