Great question... and thanks MJ for the answer.
For those unfamiliar with this resource, recently a new member began attending adult Sunday school who'd been using this as a teaching resource for adults for many years. She convinced the class to give it a try. And what a GREAT teaching tool it is! Great lesson each week. Not sure why it's named the way it is (I find it a bit off-putting), but to this conservative student of the Bible, I'm finding that this book takes all the work out of planning a quality Bible study. It tends to be more of a Bible survey than a book study, but (in my experience with it since last fall) it seems to pursue a topic using selections in order through the same book, even if it doesn't cover the entire book.
If you're interested in this kind of help, it's a great resource.
They've been around as an ecumenical effort for 140 years or so IIRC and are printed by a number of companies - Faithlife added the Cook version last year IIRC. Cokesbury & Abingdon put out a version as does the ELCA, Mennonites ... there are a couple of web versions. It ought to be a Logos lectionary ... The "Standard" here actually comes from the Standard Publishing Company.
From the Adult Bible Studies site:
The Committee on Uniform Series consists of Bible scholars and teachers, editors, and Christian educators from over two dozen Protestant denominations and several independent publishers who produce an annual outline of Bible lessons “to help growing persons increasingly: to know the content of the Bible, to understand the message of the Bible in light of their own experiences and relations, and to be aware of God through his self-disclosure, especially his redeeming love as revealed in Jesus Christ, that they may respond in faith and love to the end that they may know who they are and what their human situation means, grow as children of God rooted in the Christian community, live in the Spirit of God in every relationship, fulfill their common discipleship in the world, and abide in the Christian hope.”"
