Preparing Your Library....This May Take A While

I am running Logos Bible Software 5.2b SR-9 (5.2.2.1629). I have 4770K CPU and 8 gig of Ram memory. Logos used to load within 2 minutes or less. For some time (a couple of months) it is taking about 20 minutes to load. None of my other programs have been affected, only Logos. I don't think it is internet speed because everything else (Netflix) runs just fine. I am not downloading new resources, just starting up the program. I checked in my startup in Windows 8.1 and Logos is not there. Could this be the problem? How do I get Logos to load at Windows startup?

I don't know what the problem you are suffering from is caused by, but you are able to upgrade Logos 5 to Logos 6 for free now, and there is a good chance that this will fix it.

I am not downloading new resources, just starting up the program. I checked in my startup in Windows 8.1 and Logos is not there. Could this be the problem? How do I get Logos to load at Windows startup?

You don't need Logos to run at system startup. It would be helpful to have some logs when this problem arises i.e. enable permanent logging and upload the compressed log files folder.

When I tried to upload EnableLogging.js log, I got this message 5367.logos log files upload.2.doc

I don't know why but the startup time today was 7min the first time and 10 minutes the second time I started Logos 5 today. I know I probably didn't get the file you wanted but it wouldn't let me. Sorry

Not exactly what I was after, but I recommend you get in touch with Tech Suppport as they can login to your computer to see what is happening.

I could, but I would really like to know why logos 5 has been taking so long to load. Nothing else on my computer including the OS is affected. It took 9 minutes to load just now.

I usually shut the system down at night and restart in the morning.

Dave, I was wondering if it could be the number and type of resources I leave running in logos 5 when I shut it down. It always restarts just like I shut it down. I was thinking about closing some things out before I shut it down like searches and other things that I don't have to have open. What do you think?

It is connected with attempting a download managed by the Wndows BITS component. Best contact Tech Support as I advised earlier.
