Name of the font used for the texts?

I have searched all over for the answer to this question, but mostly just found complaints. My question is from the opposite sentiment. I really like the appearance of the font used in the (English-language) texts in the Android apps. (I use Verbum.) What is the name of this font? Can I download it to use on my laptop, which uses Windows?
