[resolved] Logos 6 Chrashes at Startup.

Yesterday I reinstalled Logos 6 Gold edition on a new laptop. At first it worked perfectly. Today however, the program crashes immediately after I open it. It crashes before it can show the home page. I then started the program by pressing Control as you suggested in the help files. Logos started on a clean page. The moment I click on Home Tab, the program again crashed. So it seems to me the problem lies in the loading of the Home Page. I attach the Logfiles. Could you please help me to solve this problem?

Bradley Grainger (Logos)

It looks like Compatibility Mode is enabled for Logos 6. This isn't necessary, and can sometimes even cause problems. I'd recommend disabling that as a first troubleshooting step.

Thank you Bradley. I disabled the compatibility swaitches. Tried to start Logos thereafter. Problem still the same. I am working on Windows 8.1. When I click on Logos icon, the program starts to open, play the welcoming Tune, and opens the Logos Screen. But while loading and before the Home Page and toolbar is opened, it stops with the well known MicroSoft's error notification.

There's no crash information in the logs, so we'll need to see information from the Windows Event Viewer to diagnose this further. Or you can contact our technical support department for assistance.

Hi Bradley, I looked in the Event Viewer of Windows and saw the culprit. It was a program from Lavasoft called Web Companion that caused Logos not to start. This program is supposed to protect one against Adware. I uninstalled the program and now Logos works perfectly again. Thanks for your attention to my problem.
